Testing Tokina AT-X 107 DX f/3.5-4.5 fisheye-zoom
Intro | Panorama | Color Aberration | Depth of Field | Coating/Flare | Links |

This picture show that the lens have some red/cyan CA (actually more visible in the raw, than what you can see from this jpeg) - but nothing more than it can normally be removed with "Auto Color Aberration"-function in Capture NX or with manual adjustment in Photoshop Camera Raw.

Nikon D70 - 1/125 secs - F/11 - ISO 200 - WB: Cloudy

This picture is part of a panorama test shot ( 5 shots around + 1 nadir - no bracketing used ) - see it here:
DevalVR
- Quicktime - Wide-angle still

Here is a some samples showing the CA on a picture taken under more difficult lightning with blown out highlight

It shows that Capture NX 's automatic CA removal does a good job on the golden nut-tray - but won't fully clean the red/cyan on the window frame.

With Photoshop Camera Raw adjusment set to -25 as in the first sample the red/cyan CA er removed from both part,.but with a little bleached colors. (I must admit though, that I'm not fully familiar with all the settings yet - so a more education person might come out with a better result.)

The picture are from a test I did on bracketing - se the link "Bracketing or not" on the link-page. ( JD Smith have also played around with my picture to test the dynamic range: Link here)
